British Retro Fashion with Lindy Bop

I purchased the Marion dress from Lindy Bop in their sale around a month or so ago, and I have honestly been in love ever since. It has been a staple for many of my summer occasions, from Aaron’s graduation, to a classical music festival and even my 21st birthday. The photos below were actually taken on my birthday at York Summer Fair – I thought the retro aesthetic was the perfect backdrop for this vintage inspired piece.

Lindy Bop specialise in affordable vintage inspired fashion, and I have a couple of pieces from the online boutique now. They retail their items on their own online store and also in a growing number of other ecommerce sites and high street shops. Offering their stunning designs in sizes 6 – 26, as well as recently bringing out a kids’ range, Lindy Bop gives almost everyone the chance to sample retro style wares. The best part is that they are extremely affordable, and their sales are insane – I’m pretty sure I only paid £17 for the Marion dress!

The beautiful navy floral print is what first caught my attention when scrolling through the Lindy Bop sale. It’s true, I am a sucker for pretty blue dresses and easily have around 5-6 navy blue floral dresses in my collection – but hey, you like what you like right?

The next thing I love about this dress is the flattering cut and material. I have average sized boobs and usually feel a bit funny wearing the more daring necklines that are out there, but this square sweetheart cut seems to really work well with my curves. Meanwhile, the short capped sleeves cover up the tops of my arms – a problem area for many, and the fit and flare skater skirt accentuates my hips. The stretchy material has been a godsend for me as my weight has yo-yoed of the past few months.

The Marion dress is part of Lindy Bop’s Made in Britain range, which strives to enable consumers to identify and celebrate British made products. I think this is a great idea as a lot of clothing that is supposed to be inspired by mid-twentieth century British fashion is rarely made in the country and that just seems a bit silly to me!

This dress is still available in the Lindy Bop sale in sizes 8 – 12, so grab it while you can girls! I would highly recommend Lindy Bop as a company, my package came promptly and was beautifully wrapped in a lovely polka dot bag!
